2003 Porsche Boxster 986 2.7 petrol

Summary:

The dream is real

Faults:

Soft top leak.

General Comments:

Having always wanted a 911, the Boxster is a car I never looked at. I am glad I did however - they are actually a very reasonable price on the used market, and a great way to get introduced to Porsche.

The car is by no means the fastest in the world, but definitely not slow. 0 - 60 mph in 6 seconds and top speed of 160 mph. Nothing special by today's standards, but the car is exhilarating to drive. Standard manual box is the one to have - I do not know anyone who likes the "Tiptronic".

Not the most practical or comfortable, and have only managed 26 mpg at best so far. But if you worry about that sort of thing, you should not be considering a Porsche! I have this as a second car for weekend/summer fun only!

Repairs and upkeep are expensive, but the fact you can get them for less than 6 grand in the first place, it is about as cheap as a Porsche will get. The Boxster is an excellent car, highly recommended! Do not touch rough/accident damaged examples, do your research and buy carefully.

2003 Porsche Boxster S 3.2

Summary:

Amazing performance and handling, amazing!

Faults:

I don't get enough time to drive it! But seriously this car is faultless.

General Comments:

Roundabouts will never be the same again, this car handles and drives like its on rails. Its such a practical car as due to its mid engined design, the car has TWO boots, which easily swallow a weeks shopping for two with ease...

Dealer services are expensive, but given the lack of massive depreciation on this car, this kind of ofsets it... Service though from the dealer is excellent, collect and return etc etc..

For those that say "you can't afford a 911 and that's why you bought this"...They're two very different cars, the engines in a different place, the handling is different, its like comparing chalk with cheese.
