2005 Renault Kangoo SL17 Van 1.5 dCi

Summary:

Typical works van, does the job

Faults:

Glow plugs.

Rust on rear doors.

Gearbox whine.

Oil leak.

General Comments:

Sturdy little van, this Kangoo (stupid name by the way), but it did us well for many years.

Decent reliability for Renault. Never anything serious, but did have its issues.

Slow, noisy and boring to drive, but always did around 50 mpg and carried heavy loads with no complaints. Interior comfortable enough and car like.

Much the same as our old Citroen Berlingo. These vans are better than the Transit Connect which we test drove and didn't like. A Vauxhall Combo was a close alternative, but the Kangoo won it for economy and price.

A typical white van for business use, it did the job, what more can you say! Not keen on the newer electric types just yet. Upgraded to a diesel 2016 model (so far so good, will try and remember to get a review up soon). But this 2005 Kangoo was a good one.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
