1995 Renault Laguna V6 Baccara 3.0 V6

Summary:

Relaxed, refined mile-muncher

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Extremely refined and well equipped car, offering great motorway comfort with above average handling in the country.

Only handicapped by old design engine which gave average performance for its size, and poor fuel economy if pushed.

Only slight gripe was slightly noisy suspension over poor surfaces at low speed.

1995 Renault Laguna RT 2.0 petrol

Faults:

Door card seals failed allowing carpets to get soaked, radio remote stalks unreliable and have been replaced. Engine management system gives intermittent fault leading to jerky running at low revs plus revs fluctuating from 500 to 3000 rpm on tickover. Dealer unable to sort out problem.

General Comments:

Loads of space, economical(ish) on a long run, comfortable, nice design. Engine pretty gutless unless rev'ed hard and thirsty around town.

I too have the door seal problem, in my case it is the rear passenger door - is this common? I know of at least two other examples. Have Renault ever passed comment about this?

I have recently purchased a 98 "R" reg Laguna. When I got the car I did not notice any problems and I was delighted with my buy, BUT after a rain shower I noticed the windows misting up very badly. After a brief inspection I found the rear footwells were soaking wet, I mean I could keep gold fish in them! Since reading comments I have realised other people have the same problem, surely this MUST be a factory fault, please could you advise me as to what I can do about it? Any advice concerning this matter would be very gratefully received.

Thank you

Can anyone suggest how to fix the problem of a leaking rear passenger door?

Thanks.

Hi I'm wondering, what does RT mean on a Laguna RT?

21st Oct 2004, 13:56

'RT' is used to denote a police pursuit car. In the police the 'area car' or 'RT car' (so called as it has a force radio (RT mainset radio) fitted). These are fast pursuit cars that can only be driven by advanced drivers so it might be using that to portay it as fast or sporty.
