2010 Renault Laguna Coupe TomTom Edition 2.0 dCi

Summary:

Unique, rare and good looking

Faults:

Needed a new clutch and flywheel upon purchase, dealer did this under warranty.

Has a small oil leak, not serious.

Inside there is some trim and dashboard wear and tear, but expected of age.

General Comments:

Fantastic great looking coupe from Renault. Underrated when new? Perhaps... but as a used purchase for very cheap a couple of years ago I am enjoying this car!

Silver, very sharp looking. Inside also very stylish. Modern for a 16 year old car. Plenty electrics and features. Seats are very nice and comfy. The car is great to drive - not super fast for sports coupe, but fast enough. Diesel 2.0 dCi has enough grunt and does a solid 48 mpg so far.

Very, very smooth on the move, makes a great long distance tourer for two. Shame it's essentially a second car for me and I do not drive it much, treated as a classic nowadays.

I think Renault tried hard with this car and it was underrated when new. You can get them real cheap on the used market, even the 4 door Laguna is a rare car now, so this coupe will only rise in value, I suggest you buy a nice example now and keep it original!

2010 Renault Laguna Dynamique TomTom 2.0 dCi

Summary:

Massive improvement over previous generation Lagunas

Faults:

Turbo failure.

Oil leak.

Air con stopped working.

Suspension mounts failed front and rear.

Engine management light on = cleared with fault code reader, no apparent fault.

Clutch feels "different" lately, but has not failed.

General Comments:

Well it goes like a rocket, is absolutely gorgeous to look it, very sharp to drive, and very comfortable, I do like this car. Stunning in darker colors. Not a common sight on the road - it is good to be different!

Despite being initially unsure as previous Lagunas I had were unreliable, but they have really sorted out later cars, so I'm glad I gave Renault another chance. Yes the turbo failed among other things - but nothing out of the ordinary for the age and mileage. I believe my 2.0 dCi engine is better than the more problematic 1.5 dCi units.

It also can average around 50 mpg on diesel. Half leather seats, sat nav, electrics, the lot, "Dynamique TomTom" model is a good one.

Not worth much at this age and mileage, but I'll hang on to it until it dies, no signs of rust or anything nasty. It's a shame Renault couldn't shake the poor reliability image of previous cars, because this one is much better.
