2019 Subaru Forester E-Boxer Premium 2.0 plus electric motor

Summary:

Fantastic to drive, very well equipped

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car is too new in the UK and has not really been reviewed by the motoring press as yet. So far the car has behaved perfectly in the very short distance I have driven it.

The car is fully loaded with hi-tech safety equipment which is taking me a while to get to grips with; there are three separate handbooks - one for the car in general, one for the Eye-Sight safety systems and one for the infotainment/sat nav system. The car is nicely appointed with heated seats front AND rear, a heated steering wheel and power adjustments for both driver and front passenger seats. Power tailgate is standard, as are automatic folding door mirrors, key-less entry and push button start.

It's quite eerie when the engine cuts out and the car glides along in near silence on the electric motor; a prod on the gas pedal will restart the petrol engine - the process of switching from gas to electric and back again is seamless and entirely automatic. I do find myself trying to see how far and how fast I can go on just the battery without the engine cutting in!

Obviously with such a short mileage (under 300) one can't really comment on reliability, but this is my 7th Subaru vehicle and in all of that time (15 years) I've never had a warranty repair or a breakdown on any of my previous Subarus, so I expect this latest one will give me the same faultless service.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Some how I managed to say "I don't know" to the question of would I buy another car from this manufacturer (now fixed, site moderator) - This is my seventh Subaru and I will always be a Subaru driver, I can't see that changing. The car has still only covered 1300 miles but continues to delight me every time I drive it.
