Faults:

Synchromesh started to wear on 2nd gear.

Seats too soft for a car with such grip - needed Recaros.

Otherwise, never put a foot wrong.

General Comments:

This car is the best handling small car on the market - I used drive mainly on the twisty, mud covered roads of Mid Wales where the 4WD was used regularly too.

We had stiffened suspension and mud & snow tyres on all wheels, so the grip was incredible in dry and wet.

Performance from the 3 cylinder engine was mighty - enough to see off any Fiesta/Nova/Metro with same engine size, but low gearing helped to protect my licence by making anything over 85mph too noisy!

A bit on the small side, but could take 2 mountain bikes and weekend kit with a squeeze.

Definitely the most fun you'll ever have from a 1.2 - has anyone made a WRX version yet...?

Faults:

Brake pads.

Exhaust welding and bracket fixing.

General Comments:

High mileage but passed its MOT at 160k with flying colours.

Very reliable, drives as if it only had 50k on the clock.

Used every day, approx 500 miles per week.

Drove perfectly for holidays to Cornwall and driving holiday to Paris.

Faults:

Driveshaft went whilst still under warranty at around 61,000 miles perhaps indicated the way it had been previously driven.

Propshaft went at around 75,000 miles indicating the way I had driven it!

Otherwise nothing major although the 3 cylinder engine asks to be revved to the red line (7000 rpm)! Exhausts very expensive as cheap replacement wouldn't mate with Subaru standard.

Just before it went to scrap yard due to a lorry writing off whilst stationary the syncromesh on the second gear went and the other drive shaft was going.

Watch out for rust especially at the front on the chassis very expensive to re-plate at £500.

General Comments:

This is the best small car on the road, I'm looking out for another one for next year. Friends all had Fiestas and Polos but the Justy out accelerated them all and was far far quicker than larger cars such as Golfs and Astras. Insurance a bit expensive - Golf priced. It is the safest handling car I've ever driven with the four wheel drive, independent rear suspension and fantastic brakes. It is also of the size that can keep up with a Range Rover off road and the motorway.
