Great little drive with a few minor niggles
CD Player takes about 5 attempts to load CD.
Passenger seat rattles.
Dealer closed down and recieved little positive help from suzuki and next nearest dealer is an hour and a half away.
Excellent drive.
Fun.
Fast.
Eats corners.
Puts a big smile on your face.

Fab, fast and fun
Nothing.
Having had several Suzukis prior to the Ignis sport, I had no qualms about the reliability of them. I was reliably informed by my teenage son that I would be "the coolest district nurse around" if I got the Ignis Sport!It's an ex-demo so has loads of extras; darkened windows, graphics etc.
The difference in handling from my previous Ignis is amazing.
The Recarro seats are so comfortable for my job as I'm driving all day.
It also brings a huge smile to my face when "boy racers" see a 37 year old driving!!Ha ha ha!
With this car I can give them a run for their money, on looks and performance.

Re-discovered Youth-mobile
To date, nothing has gone wrong with it.
An Ignis to get excited about? Never. But it's true. When Suzuki won the JWRC with the Ignis Super 1600 it was only a matter of time before a replica hit the market. And that is what the Ignis Sport is. OK, it has been detuned from 1599cc to 1490cc and lost some BHP in the process, but at 1500 and with a Hayabusa tuned head and exhaust, still packs a punch. Even so, 0-60 isn't what this car is about, it's more to do with power on tap once rolling. The engine is almost like having two with the Variable Valve Technology.
Anything under 4000 is fairly normal, like any other shopping hatch. Between 4000 and the redline at 6500 it's a little hooligan. No fancy driver aids here, just your right foot. But the grip and stability will have you searching for the next bend.
Add to this package coloured alloys wearing asymmetrical racing Yokohamas, sorted suspension and raspy tailpipe and the whole package is sorted. And at a price. These are going for under the £10k mark, well worth the money and slowly starting to hit the used car market.
Inside, the trim is better than the standard Ignis range, but could be better, the carbon-look trim is not as convincing as Honda's Integra R for example. The LED lit white dials look the part and all the switches have a good feel to them. Seats are supportive Recaros and continue the sporty feel.
The stereo is a Clarion and takes CD's and MP3. One problem here is that it can skip a bit due to the firm ride.
Rear seat space isn't great, but then few hatchbacks have, and anyway this is hardly a car to appeal to the family car market.

I have a Honda Civic Type-R and am happy to swap it for my girlfriends Ignis Sport when ever. They will match each other on the twistys and in a straight line the Honda needs to be over 6000rpm before it can close down on the Ignis. The short wheelbase and chunky little 'tyre on each corner' means it will take anything you throw at it. We paid £8000 for a brand new one (05 plate).
The Civic is bigger and more comfy on the motorways. I wouldn't fancy using the Ignis to cross continents, but in the real World its the kind of car that makes you want to take the long way around to get home from work.

Have you found any way of stopping the passenger seat rattle?
Best I've managed is either having some weight on it (passenger is best, but even a bit of a press from your hand as you are driving), or sliding it about half way forwards.
Seems to be the release bar for the sliding mechanism that bounces about. Very annoying.
On another note... Has anyone had ISO-FIX anchorage points (for a child seat) fitted at all? The non-sport model seems to have them, and the sport looks to have a bunch of mounting holes behind the rear seats in the right place, but no actual ISO-FIX points.
I've asked my dealer, who has passed the question to Suzuki. I tried Suzuki CS myself, but the question was a little techy, and the techy dept only talk to dealers (fair enough really).
