2006 Toyota RAV4 Luna 2.2 D4D turbo diesel

Summary:

Looks great, goes great, a great workhorse

Faults:

The car has seemed to have developed a knocking sensation from the steering wheel when turning left at low speeds.

Second gear is sometimes hard to find and crunches.

Seems to burn a lot of oil, ran low twice since new, a bit concerned.

General Comments:

The 136bhp engine is great, very responsive and excellent for towing.

Handling is quite good for an SUV apart from the knocking feeling.

A very comfortable car for long journeys, and it loves to munch up the miles.

The load space is excellent, and the fold flat system is very handy.

The Rav4 is very capable off road, and the four wheel drive system works well.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

One of the better smaller SUV vehicles.

I have the same, 2006 d4d 2.2, 6 speed manual AWD, I live on snowy Pirineos, and it is very capable on snow, she can take me for hours of trips in snow/wet conditions, and the fuel is around 6.2L/100 km over 10k km. The motor can start at first try at -12c, every time.
