2000 Vauxhall Agila The Higher Spec One 1.2

Summary:

You can't not like it

Faults:

Tyres, brakes, servicing and a light bulb :)

Couple of little niggles (not faults) in that I find the clutch rather snappy & the engine noise can be a bit intrusive... but not a problem really :)

General Comments:

Not the car I would have chosen. I was offered it for a price I just couldn't refuse. The idea was to tidy it up & sell it on... but... I love it too much.

I'm 19 at the moment and previously owned two Vauxhall Astras (L & P reg), which were beautiful cars (and on the look out for a GSi as a project), so I had no reservations about buying Vauxhall.

The 1.2 Ecoshed is not a bad engine (considering it has 20bhp more than my old 1.4 Astra) and revs nicely to the limiter. Can keep up with larger cars if you thrash it (which I generally do) but I wouldn't recommend trying to overtake.

The running costs aren't great (averaging 35mpg), but considering I thrash it all the time, I don't think it's too bad. Especially when you look at what I'm saving on tax & insurance compared to my mates. A years motoring (excluding petrol & depreciation) for £450...nice :)

2000 Vauxhall Agila 1.0 Ecotec

Summary:

Absolutely Immense!!!

Faults:

Nothing!!!

General Comments:

The Agila is immense!!!

My Agila is the 'sport' model with a chrome exhauset, bee-sting aerial etc. It also has the blue interior with a blue CD Player etc.

The 0-60 is 16 seconds!!! And the top speed is just over 90mph!!!

The Agila rules, looks a bit stupid, but is practical... However there aren't many cars it will beat e.g Fiat Ciquentos, and Subaru Justy's!!!

The 3 cylinder engine is a bit noisy, but turn the radio up and you won't notice. Also, gear changes are a bit jerky, and suspension is a bit soft for beefcakes such as my friend Chris L.

2000 Vauxhall Agila 1.2

Summary:

Fantastic little car

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

Brilliant little car.

Very deceptive. Looks quite small from the outside, but very roomy inside.

I have the basic model, and not having central locking is a bit of a pain.

Being a mother of three I was looking for a little run around with plenty of space and good fuel consumption, and that's exactly what I got!

My previous car was a three door corsa and I loved that, but I love my little red Agila even more.

When I bought the car my husband said "I'll only go out in that after dark!", but he always seems to be off in it somewhere nowadays!

2000 Vauxhall Agila 1.0

Summary:

This car is very good for round town

Faults:

Up to present, the only thing that has gone wrong was when it failed the MOT on the emissions test. It needed a new Map sensor.

General Comments:

The car is quite quick around town, but lacks power for overtaking on the motorway's.

The interior is very big and bright, the seats are the same color the body.

The car is good for carrying bulky luggage because the back seats fold flat with the flick of a lever.
