2012 Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.4 16v petrol

Summary:

OK

Faults:

Nothing beyond services and wear and tear. The sub frame corroded badly at one MOT and needed replaced, a weak spot on these cars to watch for, it's quite expensive.

General Comments:

2012 Corsa - you wont get a more basic little run about of a car, but it has been fairly reliable and cheap to run.

1.4 petrol does 40 mpg or more, and is fast enough for me.

Very smart in black with alloy wheels.

Surprisingly comfortable and refined for a smaller car. A lot better than my old Ford Ka.

I didn't pay too much for it, but hope it lasts a long time, I will keep it serviced and drive carefully.

2012 Vauxhall Corsa Active 1.2 16v petrol

Summary:

Neat little run about

Faults:

ABS sensor, front sub frame, centre exhaust system, brakes, dashboard squeak, and passenger window jammed.

General Comments:

This Corsa has never let me down the last few years. It has been a great little car. Smart in bright red and nice alloy wheels.

Active model is a nice spec, plenty of electric features and funky seat patterns. Interior is surprisingly refined for a smaller car.

1.2 petrol has weak performance, but is very economical, you will see around 45 mpg or more. Cheap insurance and repairs.

Hard to say much more, just one of the best small hatchbacks you can get in my opinion.

2012 Vauxhall Corsa ecoFLEX SXi 1.2 16v petrol

Summary:

Basic, but a nice affordable run around

Faults:

Replaced exhaust rear section, brake discs and pads.

Front shocks done at last MOT.

New battery.

General Comments:

Had this Corsa for a few years now, never let me down. 2 door in white with 16 inch 5 spoke alloy wheels, looks very smart.

1.2 "ecoFLEX" engine is slow, but does about 45 - 50 mpg; for petrol this is really good, normally only diesels get that economy. The car is also cheap to tax and insure. Repair and service costs have been OK as well, assuming you find a friendly local garage. I wouldn't bother taking a car of this age to a Vauxhall main dealer - in my experience they are not interested in older cars and always are expensive for anything.

Interior is very dull and grey/black, but it is comfortable and refined for a smaller car. SXi trim is oddly equipped - I have cruise control but no air con? Seems in most cars air con is standard or offered before anything else. Also has electric windows and mirrors at-least.

The car is good to drive, handles very well. Hard to believe it is over 10 years old now; I see myself keeping this car a long time, looks and feels as good as new.
