Faults:

Clutch judder, jerky accelerator, brake grind, rumble from rear suspension, rattle from behind dashboard, oil leak, notchy gearbox, etc!

Intermittent starting issue - replaced battery but it still refuses to start sometimes. Local auto electrician had a look but couldn't find anything wrong.

General Comments:

Pretty average hatchback. The Corsa is a cheap economy car but I think Vauxhall could have done better than this!

Dull to drive and slow - 16 seconds to 60 mph. It does do over 40 mpg though, which for petrol is good. I'd go for the bigger 1.4 petrol engine if buying again, this 1.2 just isn't up to it. The 1.0 must be terrible!

Seats are too hard, maybe it's just this basic "Excite" specification but the interior is dull, cramped and noisy. No fancy features.

My previous old 2008 Honda Jazz was way better (which was only scrapped because it had over 150,000 miles on it), and I needed another car in a hurry, but I thought this Corsa being more modern and lower mileage wouldn't be too bad, but I was wrong. Maybe I got a bad one, they can't all be this bad, the Corsa seems very popular.

Faults:

Mostly wear and tear. Only real issue is recently the clutch is juddering on release but still engages fine. No rust, but be aware at around nine/ten years old the subframe on Corsas starts to rust. Can be expensive to replace. Might be an advisory next MOT. But I do look after it well with all services, and keep it clean and garaged.

General Comments:

If you want cheap to run reliable transport, the Corsa is a fine choice. My 2015 car still feels as good as new.

SXi model is common and it's a good spec with all the electrics you would expect and need. Seats are very comfortable and so is the ride. The car is remarkably quiet for a smaller car. Pleasant to drive.

1.4 petrol engine with the manual transmission is fun and nippy, and regularly does over 40 mpg; for petrol you won't get much better than that. I'd avoid the diesels, they are complicated and problematic at this age and mileage. But a looked after petrol engine should not cause you any trouble.

Cheap tax, insurance and servicing.

Vauxhall really got this Corsa right, it is the ideal car for anyone. I have almost nothing negative to say about it. Best looking generation as well in my opinion.

Faults:

Nothing! Cosmetically looking a little rougher now, but it is nine years old.

General Comments:

Black 2015 Corsa, common sight on the roads for a good reason - cheap to buy and run, modern and reliable.

SXi model is sporty and has a nice interior, surprisingly quiet and comfortable. Good vision all round.

1.4 petrol engine is nippy and does 40 - 45 mpg! Reasonable tax and insurance costs.

Perfect first car really, cannot fault it.

Faults:

Nothing major, keep these cars serviced on time to avoid problems.

General Comments:

Another pleasant small hatch we bought for the family as reliable second cars (the other is a similar Fiesta), the modern Corsa is hard to fault. Very modern despite being seven years old now.

Good to drive but not very fast, however it is economical, and has enough space for a small hatch.

Excite trim has nice alloy wheels and is a nice dark blue colour. Recommended if you want no fuss modern motoring.

Faults:

Discs and pads at front, rear suspension bushes, all oil changes done.

Steering wheel buttons feel a little unresponsive sometimes.

No major faults, has been a reliable enough car, I bought used so cannot comment on its first 25K miles or so.

General Comments:

A much better car than my previous 2005 Fiat Punto which was falling to pieces. I had heard Vauxhall's were not much better, but this just feels like a much more solid car.

Design model has lots of electrical equipment for a small car. Nice alloy wheels as well. I like the look of the car, very smart.

One big complaint I have about this car is the performance. Over 15 seconds to 60 MPH. You have to be brave when joining motorways. The 1.2 is very under powered. Dread to think what the 1.0 must be like. As some other reviews say, go for the 1.4 and upwards if you value performance. The 1.2 does do around 50 miles per gallon though, which for petrol is excellent so that makes up for the poor performance. Still if buying again I would definitely go for a bigger engine. Being younger I had to go for the smaller engine as insurance was cheaper. The car handles very nicely though and the ride is quiet and smooth.

To conclude I would recommend this car to anyone as a first or second car; makes a cheap modern runabout and easy going on the wallet.
