1998 Vauxhall Frontera Sport 2.0

Faults:

Nice to drive after driving a car for 15 years but I will be happy to go back to a car. No room for shopping messages - have to sit on back floor.

Bad experience with dealer over services - had to have front seat covers replaced under warranty after holes appeared. This took eight months.

General Comments:

As a four wheel drive, nice to drive, miss the nippyness of a car.

I agree entirely with the comments. My own experience is after two years of ownership.

It is slow and ponderous in town, but nippy on motorways. have never used the 4 wheel drive or needed to, bought it for the shape and room in it. However it is difficult for rear passengers to board and alight from and luggage space for the shopping is minimal. Still catch the side of my face with the top of the door as I close it (from the outside) after years of car door tops at chest height. It will be hard to part with it due to the ultra reliability even after a head gasket went!

However a small diesel car is looking like my next buy.

1998 Vauxhall Frontera LWB Transglobe 2.2 petrol

Faults:

Bought from new 2 days old and the battery was dead (very old looking as well as being dead), fitted a new one with some arguing.

Four wheels out of balance.

No radio pop out panel bag.

Locking wheel nuts missing.

Plastic cap on the wiper arm broke.

Chrome wheel nut cover missing.

Steering wheel not fitted straight.

Badly painted front A bar.

General Comments:

Ride comfort is very good, petrol 23 to 26mpg, handles on road very good, have not taken it off road yet.

255x65x16 tyres seem to pick up on groves left in the road by so called road menders.

As of current date the suppliers seem to be taking their time to rectify the faults (they got your money so they can take all the time they want).
