1989 Vauxhall Nova GTE 1.6i petrol

Faults:

Nada!

General Comments:

It is technically an Opel Corsa GSI but it was imported and is the equivalent to a GTE.

It was a little sluggish to start with compared to my friend's GTE. I asked a Vauxhall mechanic what to do, he suggested changing the fuel filter. Whilst I was doing this I removed all the tethered carpet which was lying near the throttle and now it flies. I will be getting a k&n soon and maybe a chip....... or exhaust ......

P.S. I put the clear indicators on the front and they look tops!

1989 Vauxhall Nova SR 1.3 petrol

Faults:

Usual rust under arches, steering rack needed replacing, sender unit in petrol tank, cental locking faulty. Discs replaced, track rod ends replaced and 2 front wheel bearings. Not bad considering it's done 110,000 miles.

General Comments:

The Nova 1.3SR is a great little car. Very reliable, faster than you may think (115 on flat). I've got a K&N filter, alloys, GSI front end. It has high mileage now but I'd rather get a new engine than get rid of the car.

1989 Vauxhall Nova Star 1.2 petrol

Faults:

Locks broke, choke does not seem to work as well as it should.

General Comments:

The paintwork is the original blue and it has not faded like others. There is no rust and it is easy to run, super quick acceleration, buy one, I have, they rule.

1989 Vauxhall Nova Merit 1.2

Faults:

Exhaust backbox and intermediate section replaced, Water Pump cracked.

General Comments:

I have had it for a year and it runs as sweet as a nut. Great performance for a 1.2, sounds great with and accepts any big bore exhaust, really fuel efficient, looks great with some chunky wheels and is a joy to work on under the bonnet. I am genuinly hooked and if I could, would never buy anything else.

1989 Vauxhall Nova GTE 1.6i petrol

Faults:

Centre pipe on exhaust knocking on.

Transmission tunnel.

General Comments:

I've owned two novas and am a member of the png, my first car being an 85 SR and

now the GTE.

I'd recommend either as a great car, easy to modify, cheap to run and indecently

quick.

Buy one and join the png.
