Faults:

Heater.

General Comments:

Has been an excellent, reliable, supremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped car. I'd never thought of owning one before, although I'd always liked the look of them. This one came up by chance and I've never regretted buying it for one moment. Has also been cheap to service at the local main dealer (£120 full service).

Faults:

Alternator £30 replacement from breaker.

Front elec windows on both sides rattle, aggravated due to brake in plus lots of slamming by the Bill.

'Hunting on Acceleration' - suspect Lambda Sensor or distributor drive (arcing on replacement cap/rotor arm). Rust damage on rear wheel arches.

However at 215,000 miles these faults are extremely minor. Engine otherwise amazingly clean and smooth for this mileage, no oil leaks, no pas or brake fluid leaks. Down to maintainance regardless of cost by Police.

General Comments:

Vauxhall will not make a better car, ever.

From the other entries, glad this model has not got cruise control/air-con/cd-player/heated seats etc..etc..

Economy not bad for the performance.

Would like a CD after a thorough investigation that all toys are working/mileage is genuine.

Vauxhall dealers do more damage than good. Bad attitude, mechanics have intellect of single celled lifeforms, if you want anything doing on your Senator, Do it yourself! Or get someone with a brain to do it.

Faults:

Since buying it 6 months ago, a new water pump and hose on the power steering. The water pump cost £300 to have replaced at a Vauxhall dealer and the power steering hose I did myself.

General Comments:

Extremely fast, comfortable and handles like a dream. The best car I have ever driven and I would definitely have another, when I can be persuaded to part with this one of course. If you want a fast motor that is affordable and efficient to run, then go for this one. You won't be disappointed. Trust me.

Faults:

185K miles so it's not surprising there are a few faults.

Rear door central lock does not work.

Distributor cap & arm burnt and pitted.

The Lambda sensor died the day after I bought it (common fault apparently). It took a while for the mechanics to isolate the cause but a replacement sensor fixed it immediately.

Loses some oil but does not burn or leak it (!!), still investigating that one.

Various dash lamps do not work although all the electrics do.

General Comments:

What a superb motor. This one is ex-Police and the suspension is "sorted" which makes it extremely easy to drive around the lanes of Kent errr ummm expressively :-) Awesome road holding coupled with an engine that would pull the Eurostar train makes this a top notch vehicle that is affordable whilst other cars of similar performance would stretch the wallet of even the reasonably well off. This particular car's loss to the Police is my gain. Adding a set of alloy wheels and some ZR rated tyres has enhanced the already stunning capabilities of this car. Would I have another? You bet! But I'm holding on to this one for a while yet.
