1997 Vauxhall Tigra MARINE 1.4

Summary:

It is the best car I have ever drove perfect little runabout and extremely reliable

Faults:

The windows don't come back up properly they slide back down.

The brakes are making a squeaky noice at preasent getting repaired next week.

The brake lights disconnected.

Part from that brilliant car it is not bad as it is about 9 yrs old.

General Comments:

It is a nippy car.

It is not very big inside however you get a big boot.

You can get kids not adults in the back.

The back seats are on by Velcro and not very comfy.

1997 Vauxhall Tigra 1.6

Summary:

Absolutely brilliant

Faults:

I am really impressed with my baby.

The passenger window refuses to go all the way down.

I had the car washed and there was a nail in the Tyre so this is all I had to change.

Absolutely brilliant I love this car.

This is the only car I have had the most luck with.

General Comments:

The engines sound noisy when it wants oil as soon as you top it up its fine.

The power is brilliant and I can overtake BMW's other fast cars.

The rear seats are super tiny though and is suitable for children not adults.

The boots really spacious though.

1997 Vauxhall Tigra Marine Coupe 1.4

Summary:

Great to look at. Awful to own

Faults:

The cam belt snapped.

The petrol gage gave up.

The big end and crank went and cost £650 to fix.

Then a month or so later the engine had to be replaced as the work on the crank and oil filters etc didn't cover the major engine damage!

General Comments:

The Vauxhall Tigra was and probably always will be my dream car.

But after having so many problems with mine, and shedding so many tears and sleepless nights over it... I think the time has come to part with mine.

For the first 3 month of my owning the car it was amazing, then slowly, but surely every little bit of it has failed on me.

I am gutted.

The car is really nippy, but shuddery and the windows go up and down at a snails speed.

1997 Vauxhall Tigra bermuda 1.4

Summary:

Tigra Grrrrr Grrrrr

Faults:

Cam belt has just snapped at 48,000 miles causing major repair bills!

Had problems with the electrics, but only minor.

Reverse light switch went.

Break spring was sticking when first purchased.

Deadlocking spring has gone on passenger door - will it unlock, won't it unlock, it's a lottery.

General Comments:

I love my little Tigra, but just recently it has started to go a little dodery as it has hit the big 50! The cam belt snapped at 48,000 miles, but this was no surprise as it was 8,000 over the recommended mileage for a new one - I am in wrangles with Vauxhall over this one...

The electrics fizzled out, but that was due to a faulty bulb, and the reverse light switch was repaired under warranty.

However in the grand scheme of things, the brakes, tyres, suspension etc. are fine and I have had no real repair bills apart from the cam belt, it has been a well behaved little motor.

As for the car itself, the cabin is "snug" and the seat-belts do drive you insane as they are always getting slammed in the door or stuck round the back of the seat.

BUT I am on the internet now looking for a new car and I can honestly say I haven't found anything else which even remotely catches my eye. My friends things it's the slinkiest thing they've seen, I love posing in it and it looks like a lot more 'dollars' than it is. Make some more Vauxhall!
