2015 Volvo S60 D4 SE Lux Nav 2.0 diesel

Summary:

Performance and economy

Faults:

Basically nothing, the car is a decade old and holding up well, low mileage beautiful example and has nothing more than cosmetic marks here and there. The car has full service history and I recommend you do not buy one of this age unless it has all the documented work!

General Comments:

Beautiful red 2015 Volvo S60 - I love these cars. They provide classic Volvo solidity with modern driving dynamics.

Paid a pretty penny for this car, and was hesitant at first due to its age, but with low miles the car basically looks and drives like new.

SE Lux model has the lot - leather seats, all electrics. The car drives super smooth and is very comfortable, probably the most comfortable car I have ever had, and yes it's better than my old 2009 BMW 3 Series, which was also a fine car, but I think I prefer this Volvo.

2.0 diesel is the one to go for in higher horsepower versions (D4) it does 0-60 in around 7 seconds, feels very fast. You can enjoy that performance, or take it easy and manage a realistic 60 mpg. Yes, it's that good. With all the talk of hybrids and electric cars I see no reason to shift to those cars ever - they nailed performance and economy in cars over a decade ago, this car proves that. And being a 2015 model here in the UK that means it qualifies for lower tax brackets. Servicing and repairs can be expensive to be fair, and the car is a higher insurance group, but it is all worth it for what you get.

Overall I just love it. If you cannot already tell, I am hoping to keep this car a very long time, despite its age. If you find a low mileage one of these on the used market at a reasonable price, go for it, you won't regret it if all you want is a modern reliable car that provides value for money. As with all diesels of this age however - make sure it's serviced on time, and give it a long firm drive to keep the DPF and other emissions systems happy and you should not have too much trouble.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
