2017 Volvo XC60 SE Lux 2.4 turbo diesel

Summary:

A car for all seasons... No beauty queen

Faults:

Rear ABS sensor.

General Comments:

Grumbles first:-

ABS sensor on the rear wheel... glitching. Not expensive

The infotainment system is a real chore... Forget doing anything fancy on the go. So many options!! In fairness, I'm a VERY boring man... When I'm driving, I drive... I don't sing along to ABBA or want to know where the nearest Norman Castle is.

Comfort:

Sublime... Extremely comfortable. Almost too comfortable. Getting in and out is a cinch as the car sits quite high. No moaning and groaning.

Zoominess:

With more than 200 gee gees under the bonnet, it goes very well... Surprisingly well!

Safety:

Excellent brakes airbags etc etc etc...I don't like the City Safe system. The car is a bit of a nanny.

Practicality:

Hmmm 1400 litres (seats flat). That's 200 less than the XC70 and 400 less than the XC90

Does it pass the Labrador test? Yes... You can fit a large dog in the back, but the distance from the road to the floor of the boot is quite high... Older mutts will struggle.

Economy:

MPG... Take it easy (60MPH) and you'll see north of 50MPG on a long run... Around town 35-36 is more usual.

Coolness:

It's a Volvo XC60... It is the last word in un-cool. The XC90 is sub zero. The XC70 is a good looking machine. The XC60 is a sensible small to mid sized SUV and SUVs in general are not cool.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
