1994 Renault 21 TXi 2.0

Summary:

A super-fast, super-reliable and good looking sedan

Faults:

Broken aluminum wheel.

Rear exhaust box replaced at 80.000 kms.

A/C compressor replaced under warranty six months after the car was purchased, since that time it never failed again.

General Comments:

One of the best cars I've ever owned, being a 94-95 car it has digital A/C which works perfectly), sun roof, good looking wheels, infrared remote and a powerful engine.

The engine is almost maintenance free, oil changes every 4000 kms and adjust valves lashes by myself.

Drives great in wet conditions and the leather upholstery is #1 in quality.

I'm not ready to buy another car so a complete service is going to be soon.

UPDATE: The car has 105k km, the cam-belt has been replaced and gave the fuel system a good ultrasonic clean. Still in perfect running order, awesome car.

1992 Renault 21 GTXA 2.2

Summary:

Excellent

Faults:

Excellent vehicle - not cheap to buy - very cheap to run.

Nothing major has gone wrong - just regular maintenance: brake pads, plugs, oil, radiator fluid, tyres, etc.

General Comments:

My third Renault in a row - wife also has one, for a total of 7 in the family:

2 R18's, 2 R11's, 1 Fuego, 1 R21 and a 1998 Clio. Also my father had 2 Dauphines in the 50's...

Thinking of buying a Megane or Scenic soon...
