2001 Renault Twingo Free 1.2

Summary:

Need a small car? Buy this one!

Faults:

Absolutely nothing.

General Comments:

It's very roomy and spacious, accessing the rear seat is easy and the controls are well designed and positioned.

The dash is fairly simple, it needs a RPM meter and a water temp indicator, this was easily solved because my dad installed those items before he gave me the car.

Being a woman, this is easy for me to wash the car and to park it on the street.

The air conditioner is strong and the windscreen washer is fast, remember it has only one and the rear wiper works fine, this was an after market option.

The fuel tank is cheap to fill and last around 400kms which is good.

All my friends are asking to their parents to buy them Twingos because we all are amazed with these little cars.

The dealer service is good.

2000 Renault Twingo 1.2 gasoline

Summary:

Perfect city car, park it everywhere!!!

Faults:

Flat rear tire 3 times when new, dealer replaced a faulty valve on the wheel.

Burnt foglight bulb also replaced under warranty.

General Comments:

Fantastic city car, very powerful being a 1.2 (75bhp), but it has load of torque and you can drive in 3rd at all speeds.

Very, repeat very huge inside, comfortable as nothing I have driven in my life.

Little boot but, who wants a big boot in the city?

Near 13km/liter of gasoline consumption, twice as economical as my old Corsa (crap car!).

The 1.2 twingo doesn't have 75 hp, it really has 60 hp.

To my knowledge, there is. Originally it was 55HP, Twingo 2 came out with 60HP in 1999. The newest models (since maybe 2001) are sold with 75HP engines.

The Twingo got the Clio engine in 2001. It is the 1.2 16V and the output is 75 HP.

1999 Renault Twingo 1.2 petrol

Summary:

A perfect city car

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

It's a great city car, lot of usable space, very comfortable, I'm 6 ft. tall and I fit perfectly inside.

The engine is adequate for the car and is silent and economical, around 12 kms per litre.

Service routines at dealer are average in costs. Cheap to run and good assembly quality, better than my 2 year old Corolla which was stolen, thank God, because the replacement parts were very expensive.

I'm currently buying a Scenic for my wife to make country trips and to replace the Sierra wagon.
