2007 Acura RDX Tech 2.3 turbo from North America

Summary:

Well crafted machine with nice options

Faults:

Brake rotor was warped, and the front seat heater was not working. Dealer repaired both under warranty.

The running boards get easily corroded in the winter.

General Comments:

The performance from the turbo is awesome.

The transmission occasionally shifts to a higher gear in city traffic and lugs.

Even with all the adjustments, I personally find the seats a little uncomfortable.

The shocks are quite stiff like my Volvo, but it never seems as jittery on the bumps.

The SH-AWD is really great, and this thing corners like crazy. The vehicle feels like you will never really push it to its limits, which builds confidence.

The cabin is very nice, and it takes a while to get used to all the buttons.

I personally do not like the heater controls, except the dual climate is great.

Stereo system is unreal.

Storage is adequate, but can be a little tight with two kids and a dog.

We had deep snow last week, and we were able to easily plow through some horrible ruts and deep shifting snow.

200,000 km update. Still going strong. I did have to book it in for its first repair though. :(

Apparently the air conditioning clutch is on its way out. It seems to be a common problem and Acura did extend the warranty on this part to 160,000 km, but I'm way over that LOL.

First repair at 200,000 kms ? Hehe, you are very optimistic person. There are several problems with these cars, but owners enjoy driving them so won't tell you the whole truth. Just search on forums like these see what owners report as problems - and no, these are not lemon cars, the same faults happen with all these cars https://acurazine.com/forums/first-generation-rdx-2007-2012-147/crazy-after-all-these-years-987735/

Just a quick update. Turned over 115,000kms this week. Still runs like a top. No repairs so far.

140,000km update. Still no repairs. Averages 11-12L/100km around town. 8-9L/100km on the few highway trips we take.

It seems to eat through tires in ~60,000km, but other than that, we've had no issues.

Runs like a top. I'll be running this one to 300,000km at this rate.
