1989 Alfa Romeo 75 Twin Spark 2.0 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

If I had to buy another car this would be it!

Faults:

Clutch replaced when I got the car.

Exhaust centre section every 14 months.

Steering geometry/bushes replaced and reset.

New bottom ball joints every year.

General Comments:

Excellent fun, excellent handling once I had the suspension bushes replaced and the steering geometry reset.

Must be looked after to get the best out of it.

The car understeers very very badly if the bottom ball joints are worn.

1989 Alfa Romeo 75 Super Sport 3.0 V6 from Sweden

Summary:

A tuned WOLF who eats Germans and other Italians

Faults:

Blown one original engine in 98. Now runs a turbo converted V6 3.0 which gives approximately 380hp at a surprisingly low 5400 revs, but we haven't boosted the turbo very much. Leaves a new BMW M5 standing because of some other mods.

But the thing is it's cheap and much more fun than a Ferrari, too bad it takes too much fuel.

General Comments:

BAD ASS Killing machine.

Takes out a 99 BMW M5 in redlight acceleration 0-100 3.9 second runs. 17" wheels and a wide 245 rear to keep the wheels on the ground. Have practically no tire wear due to diffs and superb traction.

What Turbo is used, and what changes have been made to the motor, and injection...I have 75 3.0 V6, and I was thinking of adding a turbo so I am looking for all help I can find.

Aca from Serbia.

1989 Alfa Romeo 75 Veloce 3.0 V6 petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Snapped cam belt at 2,400 miles.

Water leaks, electrical problems.

Cams have had to be replaced due to the loss of one of the lobes.

General Comments:

I have owned this car for 9 years. It is finished in Alfa red with the full Zender kit and Revolution alloys. Several people have stopped me and tried to buy it, where ever you go you get noticed. It has been ultra reliable (for an Alfa) with only sevicing really being required. The car handles well thanks to "Alfa tune" in St Helens Merseyside. Also fitted 210 bhp cams.
