1993 Audi A6 Avant review from Denmark
"Solid, reliable and spacious German engineering"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver's side electric window button very stiff sometimes.
Central locking system has a life of its own.
Thermostat may be faulty - not sure about this though.
The 'coil' light on the dashboard started blinking while I was driving. Fault disappeared by itself and did not noticeably affect the car in any way.
Passengers with a tendency to car sickness don't like riding in the back.
General comments?
I'm very happy with the A6 and can recommend it as frugal, functional and high quality. It's never left me stranded or refused to start. Apart from motion discomfort for some passengers, (a major problem with kids, I have to say), the above faults are minor irritations in a car that's over 16 years old.
It's no racer, but it does the job admirably.
I get about 15/16km per litre total.
