1981 Audi Coupe GT5 1.9 carb WN from UK and Ireland

Summary:

An enthusiasts dream

Faults:

My bonnet blew open (just after fixing the water pump so possibly my fault) causing snapped hinges and a broken screen.

General Comments:

This car has had new uprated suspension fitted by myself when I got the car (£130 from a local secondhand dealer) it handles well. Goes better than the boy racers Saxo VTR's, recently towed a boat 350 miles to Cornwall and back (with only a flat tire on the trailer) The car is bright yellow and has been nicknamed Louis the Lemon.

1981 Audi Coupe GT 5S 1.9 5-Cyl Carb from Australia and New Zealand

Faults:

All age-related. Water pump, replaced brake discs, driver's power window, battery.

General Comments:

Beautiful car, owned from '96-'97, sits 4 6-footers comfortably, durable, not rust-prone, not very good pedal positioning (though improved since '83). Parts cheaper than I expected. On long drives surprisingly frugal for a 5-cylinder with a carb, so-so for urban. Too tall-geared, hardly ever used 5th (E) gear. Robust body.
