1961 Austin A40 Farina Countryman review from Austria
"Very funny small car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Exhaust changed.
All brake cylinders changed.
Front wheel bearings changed
Engine and gearbox leaking.
Some small weld repairs to the sills.
General comments?
Wonderful small car. Bought it in 1981 from a scrapyard, and made some small repairs to get it roadworthy. I still own it and it drives yet, but engine gets a bit tired.
Leaks from several points, probably due to long standing intervals.
Nice to drive on B-roads, but for motorways it's simply too asthmatic.
Absolutely reliable.
