Faults:

Strange noises from left dashboard side.

The fabric on the pillars is coming up with the heat.

General Comments:

Well it's a 1.6, so don't expect a rocket. I just kicked its heart out to see what it could do, and it's fast, but would be better if it was a 2.0. Spin and burn the wheels by switching the traction button off.

Fuel consumption is high, probably because of the heavy bodywork.

Interior is a bit cramped, but once you get used to it, it's OK.

A/C works great in the summer heat. Would have expected better paintwork for the money at least. I'm keeping this one until I destroy the engine (trying); after that it's a 130 for sure.

Excellent handling on our narrow and winding roads. Rear tires; make sure to always check them.

Faults:

ABS sensors failed four times.

Suspension squeak.

Airbag warning light illuminated due to poor connection.

Dash buttons fall off!

General Comments:

Owning this little car has been an unpleasant experience, and has resulted in 12 months of hassle!

My previous Rovers, MGs and Hondas were far more reliable.

The BMW is very uncomfortable and not a very nice place to spend any amount of time.

Avoid the 1 Series, it's the most overrated car on the road!
