1972 Cadillac DeVille from North America

Summary:

Awesome!

Faults:

Cruise control chain broke from cable.

Interior immaculate except the headliner stitching is coming out and needs to be replaced.

Can't seem to find a battery strong enough to kick the car over on first try.

General Comments:

I love this car! Even better than my 71 Rolls Royce. A super comfortable ride. Turns and steers smoothly for a car that's nearing 40 years old. Just need to make sure you have a garage big enough to fit it.

I'm glad you mentioned the handling. I had a '73 Coupe DeVille and the most surprising thing was its excellent handling, despite the enormous size and weight, and its very soft ride. I miss that car, and the old days.

How's the gas mileage? Seriously, I'm not trying to offend you, I'm just curious how much gas those big ol' barges burned.

You don't use that as your daily driver, do you?

1972 Cadillac DeVille Coupe 472 cu in from Costa Rica

Summary:

Love the car, have another '72 Sedan de Ville in Canada with 56,000 miles, fun cars!!

Faults:

Replaced the steering unit.

New valves due to propane conversion.

A/C rebuilt in Costa Rica - need it there!!

Recovered front seat in original fabric.

General Comments:

Car is almost 100% original except for some paint and upholstery. Oldest registered Cadillac in Costa Rica, had it shipped there in 1999. Rides terrific on those 'trails' with lots of power to pass!! Car is still in excellent condition even though it has been through rivers and sometimes has up to 11 'hitchhikers' in it!

Gas is low octane in Costa Rica and the propane is low grade cooking gas, but driving this car there is like 'living in a music video'!
