1990 Cadillac Seville Base 4.5 from North America

Summary:

A very well built machine

Faults:

Starter has frozen up on me 3 times.

Window motor has gone bad.

Weather strips had to be repaired.

Head liner replaced, along with seat upholstery.

General Comments:

The car has been amazing to me. Anywhere I want to go, it gets me there.

The motor, for only 180 hp, has lots of prep in it, and will put you in the seat quickly.

For a four door car, it looks very nice and sporty.

1990 Cadillac Seville STS 4.5 V8 from North America

Summary:

Strong performer, but civilized

Faults:

Rattling rear brakes.

Leaking fuel tank.

General Comments:

Love the car

It has a great sound when you step into it.

Almost as fast as my Taurus SHO, but much nicer to drive.

Its Pearl White, tan leather, good condition.

The only one I've seen around Perth Ontario.

Traded by 89 Brougham D'elegance, very big difference.

1990 Cadillac Seville STS 4.5 Liter V8 PFI from North America

Summary:

A four door Corvette with awesome styling

Faults:

Magnetic clutch on A/C compressor came apart at 122297 miles (I never use A/C anyway)

Original right front brake hose collapsed in at 123409 miles making the pads release fairly slow. Fixed myself.

Original drivers side low beam just went after 16 years. Fixed myself.

Muffler is going to need to be replaced soon as it is starting to get thin in spots from rust.

Dash lights sometimes flicker off and on with headlights turned on at night, but not with Twilight Sentinel on, I have traced it to the switch in the dash. Easy fix.

General Comments:

I am 17 and this is the first car I've ever owned. I was drawn to this model by its sleek and sporty styling.

I bought the car off eBay in August of 2005 for $1800, and it has been a super car.

People warned me about the electrical problems with Caddys, but I have yet to see anything major go wrong with the electricals that I can't fix myself.

Handling is superb along with power, and the note from the exhaust makes me feel like I'm driving a hot rod!

The paint is in perfect condition because the car had been garaged its whole life and the interior is the same way.

All the accessories work perfectly and the engine runs like it's new.

1990 Cadillac Seville 4.5L V8 from North America

Summary:

Great car would love to keep running it for five more years

Faults:

The A/C has problems, leather has cracked and torn on both front seats. Speakers do have a slight cracking sound every no and then, need to leave radio on cause on/off button is going bad. Head liner falling down. Driver seat bracket (left side on floor) broke. Handles great in all weather and definitely has the power when I need it.

General Comments:

Other than the minor problems above this car has been great to us. I average about 300/miles to tank of gas, always filling up using premium fuel. I travel 40 miles one way to my office. I am looking for replacement front seats at this time. Plan on keeping this car as long as it still runs.

I agree with you, Cadillac Sevilles are great. I have a 1991 Seville with the 4.9L and it is awesome! Runs and drives great. And if I take it easy on the pedal I can get about 320 miles to a tank of gas (I average 22 M.P.G.). I find it comforting knowing all that power is there if I need it. Granted all cars have the faults, but this one just has a special place in my heart, and I will keep her as long as I can.

I luv my 1990 Seville. Excellent on Gas. I average 23-24 mpg's on a 45 mile commute to work. I have same problem with radio cracking & like you I do not use power button to turn on & off. The power for passing & take off is Outstanding. Feels like a lot more than 185 horsepower.

We also have a 1990 Seville it only has 74,000 miles on it and the radio has had problems for years, the speakers sound like they are blown.. I'm just learning there is an amp behind the glove box.. to think that was the problem all these years!

Has anyone had problem with a hose falling of the car. I have a problem it always melts off. After it melts off I hear a lot of air. The car starts to skip like its not getting the air it needs. I have a 1990 cadillac seville.
