1993 Cadillac Seville STS Northstar from North America

Summary:

The Seville Touring Sedan is one of the most impressive vehicles I have ever owned

Faults:

My traction control and ABS went out on the vehicle, but who wants those anyway. I was relieved more than anything, the car would break the front wheels loose at 45MPH.

General Comments:

I bought the car with 140k on it and drove it like a bat out of hell for 44 thousand miles. I never once had a problem in the 9 months I owned that vehicle, infact the only reason I got rid of the car is because I needed something to tow my boat. Well after driving a non- Cadillac vehicle for 4 months I realized my mistake and sold the boat and the truck and I am buying another STS.

The ride was great.

The performance was awesome for a 4000lb luxery vehicle.

Classic styling

Very low maintenance.

Very very reliable.

And the Auto on lights come on, but go right back off.

General Comments:

This car is so wonderful, powerful great handling and a joy to ride in.

1993 Cadillac Seville Base 4.9 V8 DOHC from North America

Summary:

Minor flaws, but overall an excellent luxury cruiser

Faults:

Transmission replaced at about 123500 miles.

Battery went at just under 124000 miles.

Rear brake pads worn shortly after purchase, needed to be replaced.

Suspension is a little worn, but doesn't need replacing.

Tail light bulbs seem to burn out fairly quickly.

Radiator needed replacing after hitting a spare tire lying in the middle of the highway.

H-frame, some elements of alignment needed replacing after being hit by a livery cab driver.

General Comments:

Handling is fairly responsive, the speed-sensitive steering provides definite handling improvement.

Engine is very strong, especially considering the miles. It has good power and acceleration.

The interior is very comfortable, with nice seats and high quality materials. The cabin is very roomy.

This car handles especially well on the highways during long-distance cruising. It's a great long-trip car.

Except for getting broad-sided by a livery cab, which caused some expensive damage, the car has been pretty reliable. The transmission was the only major mechanical failure. However, if things go wrong, the car is fairly expensive to fix.

So far, it's handled every road situation I've been in quite admirably. This thing feels like it drives itself.

It chugs gas at a pretty good rate. Average of about 15-18 mpg depending on driving.

Overall, it's a good deal for a 10-year-old car. If you can get a good price on one without any serious mechanical issues, I would suggest it.

I had a 1992 Seville, not quite the same mechanically, but it was expensive to upkeep, but I loved that car very much. The power, the luxury, just the look of it was awesome. Not recommended for a struggling college student though. I had to drop almost $300 into it the first week I had it. I was lucky enough to sell it and get all my money back after ten days.

I was unfortunate enough to own a diesel! Holy cow what a piece of junk... Mainly down to the previous owners lack of care.

Anyway, don't buy the diesel unless you love giving money away!
