2003 Chevrolet Aveo LS 1.5 from Malaysia

Summary:

Slipping tyre and fuel consumption high

Faults:

The car is terrible in handling. Maybe the design failed because the front tyre always slip. The body is long, but the width of the wheelbase is wrongly calculated by the engineer whereas despite feeling uncomfortable left-right motion of wavy while cruising on uneven road.

Moreover the fuel consumption was bad.

For a 26L of fuel, I could get approximately 280-300km average on common road, and a little bit farther in the highway. its terrible.

I don't what's the problem with it, but it really drink the fuel from the tank!

General Comments:

Good design for marketing. but fail with the engine because of fuel consumption is high whereas right now the crude price is going up. a basic interior, but I wish that it could be more spaces for little gadget and reachable. My dashboard not fully utilized by the design engineers. No airbags/reverse sensors and ABS. But the engine is smooth when speeding.

2003 Chevrolet Aveo LT 1.5 E-TEC II from Indonesia

Summary:

It's an OK Korean engined, Italian designed and American labeled car

Faults:

Left front window couldn't be closed from the front left door (minor flaw).

Transmission is hard/difficult to move from gear 1 to 2 and gear 3 to 2. Other gears are fine.

General Comments:

Generally a good looking car and roomy for its class. Suspension is also better than other cars in its class.

A bit unstable when turning. Also low power/torque response. I only get around 8 KM/liter (20 miles per gallon) in city use. There must be something wrong because I expected around 12 KM/liter (30 mpg).
