Engine fire at 193,680 miles.
Became aware of rust after blobs of bondo fell out, leaving huge rust holes on both left and right rear fenders.
Cruise control does not work.
Right door will not unlock.
The rear window lifts do not keep the window up in position.
Power windows beginning to fail.
Oil pan cracked while sitting in drive way, do not really know how.
When I first saw the vehicle I did not want it as the vehicle had nearly 200,000 miles, but at only eleven hundred dollars it would easily fit into my budget. When I met the owner he was honest and told me his son was the actual owner, and was told by his son it had been very well taken care of. He did explain all the problems to his knowledge, all this time I kept in mind the vehicle was only eleven hundred dollars. I purchased the vehicle the next day.
Very quickly things started to deteriorate. I was waxing the the vehicle when on closer inspection I saw a huge piece of bondo covered by a thin layer of low quality spray paint, the same on the other side of the vehicle. It just goes down hill from there. With less a hundred miles of driving it died silently in the night with an unexplained cracked oil pan, which thankfully I caught before starting it.
I am not saying not to purchase a S-10 Blazer, in fact I know many people who have owned them for many trouble free years, it's just that I got a really rotten lemon.
I can't believe you paid that much money for a blacker with that many miles on it... hell someone should given you the thing... but with that mileage you should have no complaints.
WOW $1,100??? I might have paid 500.. I've bought newer cars in perfect shape for less than 1100...
I have a 90 Blazer High Country 4x4 with 202,000 miles and I paid $350, and that's with a 3inch Lift and new 31 inch TSL's.
