1985 Chevrolet Impala 305 ci from North America

Summary:

Great car, they should still make them

Faults:

The heat riser system; there's a valve on the exhaust manifold. It is closed when cold, open when hot. It's a good concept, but if it fails you can blow your motor.

A failed heat riser can cause a rough idle. It would NOT cause you to "blow your motor".

1985 Chevrolet Impala 5.0 from North America

Summary:

The most reliable ever

Faults:

The only thing that has gone wrong is the transmission went out on me when I shifted into park as I was driving. Not the cars fault. So it has been replaced with another. The valve guides leak a little oil on the spark plugs.

General Comments:

I drove to San Diego, CA from Virginia, and back. This is the most reliable car I have ever had. I would drive it anywhere anytime. Use to belong to a US Marshall, I'm the fourth owner. I will never let this baby go. By the way her name is Betty Boo.
