2011 Citroen C4 Airdream Exclusive 1.6 HDi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Terrible

Faults:

Gearbox, fuel pressure regulator, electronics, you name it!

General Comments:

The Citroen C4 is a stylish comfy modern hatchback. First of the "new" shape cars for 2011 onwards, we thought we got a good deal - a looked after car with low mileage and full history.

But the problems started as soon as the used warranty ran out. This car was nothing but trouble and expensive to fix.

When it was working, it was reasonably economical for an automatic diesel, comfortable and nice to drive. Good looking car as well.

It's a shame reliability was one of the worst I ever experienced in a car! Avoid Citroen of this era of cars. Too many complex electronics. We scrapped ours earlier this year and were glad to see the back of it!

2011 Citroen C4 Feel 1.6 HDI from Spain

Summary:

Cheap to run A to B car

Faults:

Some rattling in front suspension, I didn't figure out its source.

General Comments:

Coming from a MKII Ford Focus, I reckon that my C4 is far from a sporty driving experience, although surprisingly reliable; the steering is so unconnected from the road that you have to get used to it and drive cautiously.

I should add that the C4 is frugal for its size, and you can easily find cheap spare parts.
