1995 Citroen Saxo VTS from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Sweet

Faults:

My VTS tries to cut out sometimes when I have started up and driven a few miles. When it tries to cut out, I give it some revs, then it's okay. Also it makes a squealing noise for about 15 seconds when first starting up; anyone got a clue? djethwa@sky.com

General Comments:

I love my VTS; it's nimble and quick off the lights. Leaves a few cars standing, then they catch up, but I don't care.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

The squealing noise is almost certainly a drivebelt - either too slack or worn out. You might also find something the belt is driving is starting to seize up.

The stalling might be the stepper motor that controls the idle speed. This is a known issue that should have been fixed under the original warranty.

Yeah, have the belts checked and replaced if need be. Get the idle control thing changed as well. Likely the issues will then go away.
