1998 Daewoo Nexia GLXI 1.5 petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Under powered and heavy on fuel

Faults:

Air conditioning has never worked.

Leaking tappet cover.

Water leak in the cooling system.

Minor electrical faults.

Boot catch needed adjusting.

Leaking hydraulic fluid.

Seats fairly well worn.

Alarm is erratic and sometimes will not work.

Front suspension is weak.

Knocking noise in front passenger door.

General Comments:

Lots of extra features such as central locking and electric windows.

This car lacks power and is not economical on fuel with an average of 30 miles per gallon.

Often when trying to accelerate up hill the automatic gears do not engage properly and this results in the engine over revving.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I have had this same car from new (10years),and in 55 years of driving is by far the most reliable and easy to drive; nothing has ever gone wrong with it, I left it once in a wet and freezing shed in Jan. and Feb. for two months while I was in the middle east, and it started first time as always. I am even still on the original battery!!! I average 32 mpg, as I mostly do short trips.

Try changing the 'ignition Coil', otherwise U need to check the ECM unit.
