Excellent value - great first car!

Faults:

Brake Light Switch at around 30,000 miles.

General Comments:

Excellent value!

Purchased when Daewoo covered ALL service, including oil changes, tire rotations, etc.

Extremely reliable - no problems at all really.

Wonderful entry level car.

1998 Daewoo Nubira SE Station 1.6 from Iceland

Summary:

My car has not let me down

Faults:

The car was supplied with a remote door opener, anti theft system and a central lock system, but the remote or the anti theft system broke down and then the central lock system was out too! A repair could cost a little, but also maybe 1 or 2 days work! So I want have it done.. at least until I will get more upset not having it.

The drivers seat is leaning to wards the passenger, I discovered I my self was always leaning that way during cruises... so the seat was not stronger than that, probably easy to fix.

General Comments:

My main complaint is about the manual gearbox, it is to "loose" it gives you a feeling of distrust! But it has not failed.

When you drive you sit to low, the kids complain about it. Though there is about enough space for the five of us, but a bit crowded since the kids are all young and use safety chairs. The back seat is not made for 3 such chairs and the center seatbelt is not 3 points. But in general, nothing has failed (but the anti-theft) it has taken me from place A to B upon every request, I have taken ti to the service as required to maintain the guarantee and there is nothing to complain about.!!! A reliable car, but does not add any joy to driving! It is rather dull.

1998 Daewoo Nubira CDX from North America

Summary:

Good price and a nice car, love it but don't buy it!!

Faults:

Everything went wrong with the car. From a burning smell to bad brakes.

My car from day one has a noise in the dash. The first dealer thought it may have been something wrong with the A/C. I went back to him and he charged the A/C. Never fixed it. I have been complaining forever.

The compressor blew.

The A/C fan blew & I had to get the entire thing replaced. This was at 40000 miles, when the warranty ran out. They would never cover it. I complain every month about the problem and Corporate only have one record that I did. I love the car but the customer service STINKS.

My email address is bashment@bellsouth.net... I would not recommend a Daewoo for the Love of God. Don't buy it.. nice car but nasty and zero Customer Service. If they treated me better it wouldn't be so bad.

CSAT RATINGS 0000000... GOD HELP ME!

I spent $2500.00 fixing the car at 40,000 miles. I was supposed to have a warranty up to 36,000 miles. This was a pre-existing problem and no one would listen.

General Comments:

Worst customer service!

Don't buy the car.. no help!

I love the car.. but CSAT stinks.

I believe you.. I own one.. The car is nice, but it is so feeble. Everything goes wrong with it and dealing with Corporate in Compton is like pulling a tooth. I hope that's not why they filed bankrupt. I love my car because a lot of people are not driving around in one and I have a family.. I wash the car almost 3 times a week :-), but man, no one listens to you..

At 30,000 my tires were badly worn. The dealer said I just needed new tires. Everyone else said I had bent wheels. After spending 400 for tires it still shudders and shakes between 55-65 mph. After 8 visits to various establishments, I finally found a dealer who agrees I have a bent wheel AND BAD FRONT AXLES. He replaced them under the warranty. I STILL have the shudder and shakes. Any ideas??? I'm thinking of moving in with the dealer's family.

We bought our Daewoo Nubira new in Jan00 (1999 model CDX). As soon as the warranty ran out, things started to go wrong. We were without a CD player, air conditioning and ABS for tens of thousands of miles. We went through 3 heater cores and had to have the windshield wiper mechanism replaced, as well as all 4 struts. When the head gasket blew, we'd had enough. The Nubira was finally retired yesterday at 154,000+ miles and replaced with a brand spanking new Honda Civic LX. We got a lot of life out of the car, but it was one headache after another. Parts are difficult to obtain and the dealer couldn't care less about the service they provided. DON'T BUY ONE!!!
