2004 Daihatsu Charade MIRA VAN A 660 Triple from Zimbabwe

Summary:

A Car For Our Time

Faults:

On delivery the only thing amiss seemed to be poor trimming of front vinyl floor covering and a slight rattle of tailgate.

General Comments:

Without wishing to tempt fate I can safely say that having driven this very small vehicle over poor roads in real comfort (given the engine limitations)..I am very happy we chose to buy within budget (£3500 new).

At 100km/h fuel economy with aircon on is around 19 kilometer per litre.

Whilst very lightly built (i live in a country where every third vehicle is 4wd) the QUALITY of assembly is remarkable.

2004 Daihatsu Charade 5-door EL 989 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Lots of car for little cash, a good town car

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This is my second Daihatsu, my first I wrote off. This one is as nice as the last one.

In terms of interior space, passenger comfort and general layout of the controls, it is even better than my last one.

The amount of available interior space is awesome, unmatched by any other small car I looked at.

My only complaints are:

1. the windscreen slopes back toward the driver sharply, which reduces the distance visibility slightly & also feels odd.

2.The CD player fitted to this model is fiddly to use, I don't change anything once I get moving, it's too distracting.

Both of these things are minor. The first I will get accustomed to, the CD player I will change for the one from my old car.
