2003 Daihatsu Terios 1.3 from Belize

Summary:

Excellent car

Faults:

Nothing has gone bad with this car.

General Comments:

This car is seriously one of the most fuel efficient SUVs out there. It is a really small car, but on the pocket it is very good. I really like driving my Terios around. It looks very modern.

2003 Daihatsu Terios SX 1.3 petrol from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Great all rounder that can go anywhere!

Faults:

Nothing. Needed a windscreen for RWC and that was it.

Had slight oil leak, but later that was found to be from the previous owner doing a service on it, and they leaked oil from the oil filter as they were removing it, as it's in a tricky spot.

General Comments:

Great car, and very cheap to run. Being the second series, they changed the engine design and replaced it with one with a timing chain, instead of a belt; great idea.

Won't win any races, but it cruises well, goes anywhere, and with a decent set of all terrain tyres, you're well equipped.

1.3 DVVT engine pulls well from down low, but has little top end, but if you use the gears, you can get the most out of it. The ride is bouncy, but it is expected in a tall narrow vehicle.

2003 Daihatsu Terios from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Seriously the best car ever. Never had a problem, and will never sell this car; it's that good!

Faults:

I regularly service this car; 4 times a year.

General Comments:

Ageless looking car - still modern despite its age.

Easy to drive in the city and country.

Great to park.

High car, but not too high.

Small car, but not too small.

Seats 5 people, but can be compacted to leave more room for the back boot.

Great visibility.

2003 Daihatsu Terios from Costa Rica

Summary:

Persistent

Faults:

Stop lights gave me some issues.

Brakes needed some repairs in the first month.

General Comments:

I bought the car as a request from my wife, and it has been one of the best cars I have owned.

Replaced the gas pump as a suggestion from my mechanic with one from a Toyota Corolla, as they share parts, and did a lot of improvement on the performance.

Off-road the car is very capable, and has a lot of strength for such a small engine. However the cabin is very small, and with the baby's car seat, we can only fit one more person. Wish the car had more room.

2003 Daihatsu Terios Cool 1.3 from Venezuela

Summary:

Great value small SUV!

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Great small SUV, excellent gas economy, great engine performance for a little 1.3 gasoline engine. Our Terios was assembled here in Toyota's Venezuelan plant, and the manufacture quality is outstanding.

2003 Daihatsu Terios 1.3 Unleaded from South Africa

Summary:

Excellent fun car

Faults:

The rear diff whined at about 45000 km. After much trial and error the dealer managed to have it fixed.

General Comments:

Excellent and nippy little car. I found it to be excellent value for money as it's economical to run, and shames most of the same engine size competition here in South Africa.
