1981 Datsun 280ZX 280 ZXT Turbo 2.8 liter turbo from North America

Summary:

A golden old Fairlady - Get out of my way!

Faults:

In the 22 years I've owned this automobile, I've put two turbos in it, and it's time for the third.

Paint was a problem - it faded in the first 5 years. Other standard items replaced as needed.

The interior is very comfortable, and with sheep skins, continues today.

The car is driven with both feet. It still can go 120 MPH.

General Comments:

Today the paint is similar to primer; rust has popped near the front wind screen. Here in So Cal, the rust is at a minimum.

I have driven the car to the Motor Sport of Orange and pictures are posted of 2001. Look for a Silver Z with a Japanese Flag on the front licence. The web site is www.zdriver.com

I am contemplating the purchase of a new Nissan 350Z Touring model in Silver Stone for $35000 U.S.D. from my inheritance.

Cheers.

Buy a new 350Z and you won't be disappointed. It is by far the best Z ever and well worth the $525 a month payment. The smile on my face when I drive it or even look at it is enough to tell me I did the right thing. The car is totally awesome and pretty much the baddest little car on the road. Want more? Just ask. spikeflea843@cs.com

The happiest Z owner in the world.

P.S. The dealer I got mine at cut right to the sticker price and went lower. Don't pay too much. I'm not a dealer at all, but I'll tell you how and where to buy.

Do it!!

Or get an older Skyline GTR. Either way, you will be happy you did!

1981 Datsun 280ZX 2.8 turbo from North America

Summary:

A high performance dream if you know what your doing, and very cheap!

Faults:

Fuel pressure regulator had to be replaced when I first got the car. Other than that, it's been great!

General Comments:

14.1 on street tires; fast enough for a stock built engine?

I drive a Honda Civic for my everyday driver, and whenever I get the chance to drive my Datsun, I love it. It's such a great car.

Everyone who's been in my car says the seats are one of the best seats they have ever sat in.

It will rust easy, so you really need to watch out for rust when buying one.

Also any bondo repairs are really bad!

Any one needs anymore help on Zs, check out www.zcar.com, they will help you in any way.

1981 Datsun 280ZX 2.8L gas from North America

Summary:

An economical sports car

Faults:

While I've owned it, the only thing that has had to be fixed is the suspension. It needed new shocks, but I had all of the suspension replaced.

General Comments:

This is a great car and has had nothing wrong with it. It turns many heads.

Performance is OK and when you accelerate, the whole car leans back, even after the suspension had been replaced.

But otherwise... it's a pretty cool car to own

1981 Datsun 280ZX Turbo 2.8 turbo from North America

Summary:

Spectacular car!

Faults:

Value on the turbo acts up when the car is not warmed up. Otherwise all I've had to replace is the front passenger running light and the windshield wipers.

General Comments:

I love this car. Even though it's an automatic, it still has more pick-up and go than most cars on the road. I don't really race it, I just get to the speed limit at a fast and comfortable pace. All I've had to do is have the fuel injection cleaned out.
