1976 Dodge D100 adventurer SE 440 from North America

Summary:

I own the best truck ever to leave Detroit

Faults:

Battery died and power steering hose busted at 475,000 rebuilt for first time at 500,000. This truck proves dodge rules lets see a Chevy or ford go half a million miles with no rebuild.

General Comments:

Best truck I have ever owned. I have had chevy's and fords and neither could stand up to the abuse this truck has withstood. My family has owned it since it was new and even new trucks can't match the dependability this truck provides. Even the gas mileage is good for a 440 I get around 18-20mpg with a big block.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Get real. 20 MPG w/a 440? Our 440 got about 3 MPG. Someone probably lied to you about the mileage too. 440s are good on power, but nothin else. There's plenty of Silverados and F-Series trucks with 400k on them, look at service trucks.

You CAN get some fantastic mileage out of a 440. Example '68 Chrysler New Yorker. We regularly saw 24MPG out of it, and we were right up on maintenance as well as preventive.
