1989 Dodge Ramcharger 150 LS 318 5.2litre from North America

Summary:

Unstoppable beautiful machine

Faults:

A lot of stuff was just worn when I bought it after years of obvious offroading, but when I went to buy it I really knew I just had to have it.

General Comments:

This truck is truly awesome to drive, the four wheel low destroys anything. this truck is bigggg, has so much legroom and just feels huge to drive, especially with a 4 inch lift and 35 inch tires. come on now people, anyone who complains about gas mileage shouldn't have even looked at the truck though, remember,"hard on gas equals high on class"

1989 Dodge Ramcharger LE 150 5.9 Liter V8 from North America

Summary:

A beefy rig built to last, but not a commuter car

Faults:

Fuel injector electrical contact problem. Reseated Connectors, resolved issue.

Had to replace a broken EGR Valve bolt. Drill/tap...fun, fun, fun.

General Comments:

Big, slow, not environmentally conscious, but one heck of a truck. Reliable, does excellent off road, particularly in the snow. Seats 5 comfortably. I feel safe driving it. It commands respect at an intersection. It's made of steel! Mmmmmm.

1989 Dodge Ramcharger LE 150 318 c.i. EFI from North America

Summary:

The Dodge Ramcharger is one of the best designs ever thought of, its reliable, practical, and simple

Faults:

My idle speed controller went bad recently ($123.00 dollars to fix).

Other than that, nothing.

General Comments:

I absolutely LOVE this truck.. I have recently got it repainted. The truck is MINE and I'm never gonna get rid of it.

It is by far the most reliable vehicle Iv'e ever seen. And when the new Ramcharger comes out in a few years... it'll be sitting in my garage next to my 1989.

I've got an 1989 Dodge Ramcharger with 185,000 original miles on it. I've owned it for about 8 years and I've put most of the miles on it. I've patched the body quite a bit and done minor repairs here and there. I love the truck and will keep driving it until it will go no more. It has a 318 auto that still runs like new. With the price of new trucks and increased cost of insurance and registration fees this truck has paid for itself many times over.

I just found this site. I have a 1987 (non TBI) and I concur 100%. Mine has 250,000 and has been unlicensed for about 5 years with a plow on it for our 1/2 mile driveway. With 4 chains on the tires it is virtually unstoppable, even on freezing rain, which is a common occurrence around central Ontario. It will plow up a steep hill covered in ice! I will miss it very much in a year or so when it finally packs it in. While 'on-road' it took the family many many enjoyable and safe miles. Oh yeah, the replacement model (Durango) is a mere shadow of the venerable Ram Charger.

Just found this site. I bought a 4x4 89 LE150 yesterday for 1500. I hope its as good as I read. It only has 80,000 miles on it so it should last awhile. Thanks for the reviews.

1989 Dodge Ramcharger LE 360 5.9 liter V8 from North America

Summary:

Like it says

Faults:

Carb needed a new valve.

Heater needs fixing.

Emergency brake broke and the tape deck went bad.

The carb isn't stock, it's a Holley 2 barrel.

The heater is an easy fix and the emergency brake just needs the rubber cushion piece welded back on.

The tape deck was replaced by a Kenwood CD deck.

General Comments:

It's a great truck and very tough, I just wish the gas mileage was better.
