1995 Eagle Summit DL from North America

Summary:

Car was amazingly crash resistant given that I went underneath the Minivan!

Faults:

Head gasket rebuilt when I bought the car

Fixed the latch on the Hood.

General Comments:

I crashed this car after about 30 days of ownership and weep at the loss! After hitting a Minivan at 70Kilometres I walked away without a sratch on me. And I hit it from behind- Nasty hydrofoil on unfinished pavement.

In its short life it had no serious issues

Although after the crash I had to get a new car.

1995 Eagle Summit DL 1.5 litres, V4 from North America

Summary:

This is an exceptional vehicle

Faults:

There was a leak in the engine, which went unnoticed until the car wouldn't start at all. With about $450 they replaced nearly half of the engines parts and ultimately fixed the problem. Nothing has gone wrong since then.

General Comments:

I can't believe how fast this car is. It can burn out and vanish in its own smoke trail, while going nearly 60MPH in second gear alone! It's got such good handling too, hugs the road like a magnet on a fridge and corners like a BMW. You never really get tired of driving this bad boy.

In terms of comfort, the car has its upsides and downsides. On the upside, the seats are very soft and comfortable and it's got plenty of leg room inside. On the downside, the car doesn't ride very smooth. It's pretty bumpy.

Yeah, these Summits are wicked fast.

1995 Eagle Summit Wagon AWD 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Reliable, roomy, all-weather car

Faults:

Replaced shocks and struts at 120,000.

Replaced gas tank filler neck at 120,000.

Sliding door is getting hard to operate.

That's all!!!

General Comments:

This car is a gem. It has been totally reliable, a super snow car (I have a very steep 400 foot driveway with New England winter snow and mud half the year.) I rarely get even close to stuck or sliding around.

The car is also a compact wagon, but roomy enough for a family of 3, a small harp and several other instruments.

My Summit is peppy and takes curves like a little sports car (almost). It accelerates well for passing and gets good mileage. It feels like one of my house pets!

I have this car for sale, reluctantly. I might just change my mind and keep it.

My Summit is a 95 2.4L AWD. I put a Talon turbo in it, and can hardly keep it on the ground! This car smokes everybody off the line! WRX drivers can't stand getting rallied on by a mini mini van!
