1994 Eagle Vision TSi 3.5L from North America

Summary:

I love driving this car

Faults:

Mostly maintenance items that can go wrong on any car, with one notable exception.

The car recently had the front right control arm break off from the frame, resulting in $600 damage to the frame, a new axle, and a good deal of labor.

The timing belt snapped at 68000 miles, just after I bought the car, but all manufacturers suggest replacement at 60,000, can't pick on this car for it.

General Comments:

Nice, quick car with the 3.5L 214 horsepower. The light weight accounts for some of this, but it's a nice, smooth accelerating car.

Has loads of power and convenience features.

Front and rear passengers comment on how comfortable the car is.

I find the mileage acceptable at this age at 22mpg overall.

Nice looking car.

Good sight lines all around.

Showing some wear and tear - seat belts not taught, minor paint peeling.

Very quick and comfortable for the money!!!

Faults:

Front brake pads changed three times at 114,000,148,000,and 152,000 miles. Last set was do to left calpter sticking. Pads cost about $18 the first time, but got life time war. so the other sets were free. Caliper was $38.

Starter went out about 118,000,dealer rebuilt it for free, just charged for labor ($50).Went out again at 145,000.Went to junkyard got one for $30,replaced it myself.Haven't had no problems with it.

Bushing in the steering arm stated to go out. Took to dealer, cost $375.to fix.

Seals around all the doors leak air and are coming loose.

Passenger window is slow when rolling down, but is OK going up.

Both rear window motors when out about a week apart. (158,000 miles) Changed myself,$68 each.

Transmission slips a little when it is really cold outside, but if you warm it up first it doesn't.

Getting rust on trunk lid around lettering.

General Comments:

This car has been very good to me. Never made me have to walk.

It's very quick for being a family car. Does good from stop light to stop light against the fast and the furious car around here.

Very comfortable and lots of room for 5 people, not kids. (adults)

Does good on gas about 425miles on a tank of gas.

Very reliable gets me to work everyday with no big problems.

1994 Eagle Vision TSi 3.5 from North America

Summary:

Luxury car feel without the luxury car price

Faults:

Not very many things have gone wrong with this car. However...

The transmission started having problems 2 years after the car was purchased, but it was still under warranty so it was repaired at no cost.

It had a leak in the head gasket due to a piece of paper stuck between it and the head gasket. This problem was also covered by the warranty.

There was an electrical malfunction that caused the car to die, the dealer couldn't trace it, but a local mechanic was able to take care of it.

The air conditioner leaks, and needs to be refilled every summer. It will cost close to 2000 dollars to have the dash taken out and the leak fixed, so I just refill the system myself.

The catalytic converter makes a rattling sound.

General Comments:

We have had the car for ten years and it acts and looks just like it did when it was brand new.

Except for the problems listed above, this car has been a gem. It is comfortable, stylish, powerful, quick, and easy on the gas tank.

It is wonderful to hear that engine roar to life when you step on the throttle.

Inside it is very comfortable, and has plenty of room in the front and back seats. Big trunk too.

This car is a pleasure to drive and own; I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a powerful, spacious, comfortable, stylish and all around awesome sedan.
