1987 Fiat Duna 60 1.1 from Greece

Summary:

A nice car for its price

Faults:

(no major problems)

General Comments:

My father bought this car in 1987, when I was 5 years old and from the first time I saw it parked outside my house I liked it very much. When I turned 18 the car was given to me as my first one. All these years it was regularly serviced and properly maintained and despite the 210k km it's got it still runs as new, as we had the engine rectified at 160k km.

The advantages of this car are that it's very comfortable for its size and it has a huge luggage compartment. Also, the handling is good for a small sedan, although it would be much better if it was a little bit lowered and had 14" wheels. The brakes are good and generally I feel safe in my Duna (I use it for long trips except the "downtown" use).

My Duna doesn't have any serious cons. The only problem, if I can say so, is the performance, esp. the acceleration, but I'm used to it. Also, the fuel consumption when driven in the city is a bit high, but it's an old car after all.

Overall, I'd say that the Duna is a fair car for its price and if you take care of it, it sure won't disappoint you.

1988 Fiat Duna 70 1.3 petrol from Israel

Summary:

Nice first car!

Faults:

Just when I got it (from my sister) there was a water lick from the cooling pipes; The temperature gauge wasn't working and the engine had was burned and had to be overhauled.

Carburator needs attention every 25000km.

The dash plastic is very cheap and tends to break.

General Comments:

The car was very roomy, often I drove it with another 4 passengers, the trunk is also huge - more than 500L!

The engine is sufficient for the size of the car.
