Nothing at all!
Spacious (especially for the front passenger), seriously nippy, stylish inside and out.
The lack of power steering causes a bit of a problem when parking, but you get used to it.
Very cheap to run, around 400 miles on a tank with a mix of urban and country driving, as well as long and short runs.
Seriously nippy? What on earth are you talking about, it's 58bhp and has a 0-60 time of 14 seconds how on earth can you call that fast? My Astra VXR is "seriously nippy"
Shame you bought an Astra VXR. Fast, but to much torque steer Megane 230 would kill it round a track. It will be nippy low down in the rev range as it is an 8 valve. good round town so yeah don't come on here braggin about your VXR hardly a fair compromise.
OK then I won't mention my car. 0-60 in 14 seconds is unbelievably slow not nippy at all. a 0-60 time of less than 9 seconds is nippy less than 7 is seriously nippy less than 6 is fast less than 5 is seriously fast. there is no way you can call a 58bhp car with that kind of 0-60 time nippy its just stupid to say it.

Megane would beat the VXR. Been watching top gear LOL? Next time you see that episode, watch Clarkson put the VXR's time on the board; you will notice that the VXR was faster than the Golf r32. It was also 1.9 seconds faster than the new Focus ST. The VXR is a lot better handling than people think. Plus the Megane is made out off crisp packets - you can push the bodywork panels in and out; it probably has awful build quality like all other french cars, and it looks unbearably ugly. I will stick with the Astra.
LOL you stick with your VXR. At least the French know how to make cars that handle. Vauxhall will never win any awards for the best handling cars.
But it will win awards for looks and speed, and nobody can deny that. You're just taking Jeremy Clarkson's word for it that it doesn't handle. Have you seen his review of the last generation Golf r32? He kept banging on about what good handling the 4wd system provided, and how fast it was. The VXR must be doing something right, because it was faster. Clarkson just hates Vauxhalls. The only hot hatch better than the VXR at the moment is the new r32; now that is a car.

Everyone needs to stop arguing.
I mean your on about speed and stuff, when a Fiat Punto is nippy for a first time car, and I'd like to see you get insured at 17 with a VXR.
Comment on the cars in their category. If you're jumping to others, then a nice lambo would thrash your VXR.
The Punto is a "nippy car" 0-30. That is the only sort of speed you get around town. There's no point showing off about 0-60 times of 6 or 7 seconds, because by the time you would have got out of 1st gear, you will be slowing down for the traffic lights again.
The Punto is a good town car and that's it, it's not meant to be anything else.
I have a diesel Ford van that does 0-60 in five weeks, but speed isn't every thing, speed kills.
Have got myself a Fiat Punto 60 S and find it a good runaround for town. Very light on the steering.
Good car all round; cheap too.

I had a VXR Astra and have to say its well overated!! Before the Astra I had a 1993 Honda Prelude vtec and that was faster and better handling than the Astra VXR, I'm tempted to sell it and buy another old skool Prelude; 0-60 in under 6 seconds with very minor mods.
I just got one today... I hope FIAT Fix it Again Later will happen in later that will never come LOL ;-)
She handles great on a motorway, and killing roundabouts is just such a fun now... it's my first car on full driving license so quite nicely surprised with a space and a power...
Great stereo and the sound system is just a bless... anyway, hope to enjoy her for a while, so thumbs up please, or a boyfriend mechanic, or both LOL.
