2019 Fiat Tipo MPI Street 1.4 petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Most overlooked car on the market

Faults:

Nothing other than servicing.

General Comments:

2019 Tipo, bright red, saloon version (rare, most are hatchback) black alloys, very smart looking car.

Street version, fantastic spec. This car has all I need. I bought this after my old 2010 Fiesta failed its MOT and I needed something more modern. This Tipo offered the best value for money to say the least, in a used car market saturated with over priced nonsense.

This car just makes sense as a perfect used purchase in the UK. It's big enough being a saloon to get plenty luggage in and 4 adults in comfort. It's very cheap to insure and tax is reasonable. Purchase price again, for similar aged cars with low mileage, offers the best for the cash.

1.4 petrol engine with the six speed manual is by no means fast, but does around 37 mpg around town, and I have had 41 mpg + on longer drives. For petrol, in reality it doesn't get any better. Seems a simple and quiet enough engine, I suspect it will prove reliable if cared for. These simple petrol engines have been around a while, surely they must get it right by now!

On the down side, of course there is a reason why it's cheap. It's a Fiat. People still have badge snobbery. There is plenty of cheap plastics in the interior, that is for sure, but I can live with it. The seats are comfortable and the car has plenty of electrical toys, good enough for me. It's not bad to drive either. A bit noisy at speed, but not unbearable or anything. Clean and simple dash layout.

In short, I think this is a little belter of car that seems a rare sight on the UK roads and I dunno why - it offers all the mod cons at a very reasonable price for a 2019 vehicle, which still feels as good as new in 2025. People maybe do not look at this type of car just because they maybe had a Fiat in the 1980's or 1990's that wasn't very good. Well the more modern stuff is much better, so it's well worth a look.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
