1987 Ford Econoline 150 5.0 Super cooled from North America

Faults:

I warped a valve.

Blew a tire.

Radiator was shot.

Low oil pressure.

General Comments:

The van is very fast, I rebuilt the engine with just all performance parts and when I had it dyneod, out of a 302 I pulled 405 hp and 456 pound of torque. I love the van I want to make rear engine mounted with a 502 in the back.

Awesome power. I think it would be really cool to do a performance rebuild on a 302. About how much did you have to spend to get it rebuilt it performance parts? Did you bore it out and and get re-sized pistons too? Just curious, I think those 302's are pretty good motors, and if I get an old Ford with one, I definitely want to get it pumping out some horse power. benjieguy@gmail.com

1987 Ford Econoline 150 5.8 from North America

Summary:

I'll never go back to a car again

Faults:

I have had no problem with the van. Everything was replaced or fixed by the previous owner. The whole van was redone, all the way to the gas tank and all body work.

General Comments:

I think the van is great. It has all the room in the world. Looks awesome, it has a custom paint job, half moon mags, all neon lights on the inside, and has real duel exhaust. My baby has the 351 4 bbl, not good on gas, but pretty quick for a van. Gas mileage only ranges 8-10 city and 17-19 on highway. The van rides great to. Most people don't think I'm a van person, only being 22, but after I take them for a ride they want one.

I appreciatethis comment, it answered all of the questions I had about this van, especially the gas mileage question. the van that I am buying also has the 351 in it, and I drove it the other day as a test drive, and it rode nice, but I was just curious what other people thought about them. thanks.

I had a 1981 Econoline E150 Bivouac Conversion. It was about the ugliest color you could get and the front end was the biggest mechanical joke in the world. Alas though, it was totalled and I do miss it and all of the room. I also had the 351 in mine, good motor.
