1993 Ford Econoline Cobra Conversion Van 5.0 V8 from North America

Summary:

Very comfortable. A great van

Faults:

Cab support rusted through - 210,000 miles.

Running boards eventually began to sag and crack.

General Comments:

This van has seen America. We drove it on all of our family trips for years. The only reason we sold it was no more need for 7 passengers.

While it was an older vehicle, it looked 7 years newer than a typical 1993 van of other manufacturers. The van handled rust very well, and didn't begin to show it for 15 years, even though it was not garaged.

The interior is all comfort and entertainment. This van was extremely comfortable, and perfect for long drives with its fold down sofa and captains chairs.

The van had plenty of power with its V8, and pulled trailers for us with no problems.

We sold the van to a man who would fix the cab support and use it for his family, hopefully starting another life for the van.

Inside tank electric fuel pump went out at 60,000 miles & cost $400.

General Comments:

Has 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, not much power on hills & downshifts a lot.
