1976 Ford Escort Ghia 1.6 petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

MINCE!!!

Faults:

The C.V.H engine! or the two that were fitted to my car a la Ford warranty.

And everything else.

I don't think I would have enough room on this page to fill you in with the details.

General Comments:

A complete lemon! This was my first car, my first Ford and my last.

There would be no way in this life, the next life or in hell that I would ever consider buying another Ford. Even today.

1976 Ford Escort Ghia 1.6 petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A strong reliable car that enjoys TLC and lots of fun

Faults:

No real problems with the car. I have been doing maintenance work on it.

I have replaced one of the front brake calipers after the bleed nipple seized in. This was cheap just £15 from an Escort breaker.

General Comments:

The car has proved to be very reliable, recently it has got me to the Isle of Mull and back from Manchester without any problems.

Best part of the car is the fact that it is rear wheel drive. This makes for extreme fun, especially in the wet.

Its always good fun to be leaving the boy racer in his souped up Nova in my 26 year old Mk2 Escort 1600. :)

Its nice to be in a car that a lot of people have happy memories of and lots of stories.

I think the Mk2 escort is a great car. They look fabulous on the road today next to all the bloated, over-designed cars. They look neat, crisp & elegant. I'm seriously thinking of buying one. Trouble is, finding a good one at a realistic price.
