2012 Ford F150 XLT Super Crew 5.0-liter Coyote V8 from North America

Summary:

This truck has performed flawlessly from the first day I drove it, highly recommend

Faults:

Regular maintenance - tires, oil changes (every 5000 miles religiously), brakes, engine tune-up, transmission fluid changes, differential fluid changes, battery changes.

Water leak from the cab light on the back of the cab.

No major mechanical issues.

General Comments:

This truck has performed virtually flawlessly since I got it twelve years ago. No oil consumption between oil changes ever.

Constant piece of mind maintenance is what keeps them running. I'm not too familiar with the 5.0 engine, but it sounds like it's more reliable than the 5.4 with the known cam phaser issues.

2012 Ford F150 XTR 3.5L EcoBoost from North America

Summary:

EcoBoost gives this truck an A in my book!

Faults:

The turn signal switch went about a month after I bought the vehicle, which had me worried, but it's been smooth sailing since (now owned it for 8 months).

Gas mileage is about as bad as the 5.0L.

General Comments:

The cloth seats are comfortable, and honestly having the extra 3rd seat in the front (console folds up into seat) is convenient when required.

Like I mentioned above, the mileage is comparable to the 5L, but the acceleration from the 3.5L EcoBoost definitely blows it away thanks to the turbos.

This is my first truck and if I was to purchase another in the future, Ford is doing a good job in the quality department, so I'd get another without question.
