1991 Ford F250 XL 7.3 diesel from North America

Summary:

Great truck with power to spare!

Faults:

Transfer Case went out at 253000.

Hard to start when cold.

General Comments:

This truck is great and I would buy another one if it did not have a turbo like the new ones do. It hauls every that I hook it two. Built very well and has given me many years of trouble free service, plus very reliable. I love this truck and all the power it has.

1991 Ford F250 Supercab 460 from North America

Summary:

Tough and dependable

Faults:

AC system failed shortly after I purchased it and the dealer replaced it under warranty.

Battery and starter relay have been replaced.

General Comments:

This truck has been totally dependable. It feels very safe and secure on the highway. It is big and heavy but that has been an advantage for what I have asked this truck to do. I took it with me to Central America for 3 years, and I used the 4 wheel drive quite a bit. I used it to pull a large bus stuck in mud and it amazed the passengers.

The F250 is an amazing truck. Even with the 6 cylinder gas engine, it pulls well and has good acceleration. The base radio sounds good with decent bass (set the treble up all the way and the bass slightly lower for clear full sound). The rear window is great on warm days; it really gets the air circulating and makes for a fun ride. The 5 speed overdrive manual with a creeper 1st gear is awesome; just start her off in 2nd unless you're carrying a heavy load or need better traction. It feels like it is always going slow since it is so high off the ground, but it really goes quick. The overdrive is not much below 1:1, so it is only really good for speeds up to around 75 without revving high. What a truck!!!
